[Products & Product Groups](https://support.datapharm.com/knowledge/emc-publisher?hsLang=en#products-product-groups) # How to create a new Product Products can be created in one of two ways, depending on whether your organisation has already uploaded a product that shares the same active ingredient as the new product. ### Option 1: Create a New Product Group First  If there is no uploaded product that shared the same active ingredient as the new product, you must [*create the product group*](https://support.datapharm.com/knowledge/how-to-create-a-new-product-group?hsLang=en) before creating the product. ### Option 2: Add the Product to an Existing Product Group  If your organisation has already uploaded a product that shares the same active ingredient as the new product, the new product should be added to the existing Product Group. In this scenario, you do not need to create a new Product Group. Simply follow the steps to add the new product to the existing Product Group.  1. Go to **All Products** from the left‑side menu. 2. Select the relevant **Product Group** and click **Update**. - You will be taken to the **Product Group Management** screen. 3. Select **Create**. - You will be taken to the **Product info** screen. 5. Navigate to **Associated content** tab 6. Enter additional product details such as the **MA number**, **legal category**, and other key attributes. 9. Select **Save changes** to confirm or **Cancel** to discard the update. - You will return to the Product Group Management page, where the product will now appear as **Draft** until submitted. **Important:** Currently, Changes to a product's active ingredient or move product to the Product Group cannot be made through the Publisher Tool yet.
