Sugar Free Product

The definition of sugar free is based on the current BNF definition. Sugar free is defined as an oral liquid product that either does not contain sugar or, if the product has prolonged contact in the mouth, does not contain cariogenic sugars.

Oral liquid preparations can be described as sugar free if they do not contain fructose, glucose or sucrose. Preparations containing hydrogenated glucose syrup, mannitol, maltitol, sorbitol or xylitol are also marked sugar free since there is evidence that they do not cause dental caries.

This category relates to oral liquid preparations only.

Select either yes or no to show if your oral liquid preparation is sugar free.

If your product is not an oral liquid, select not applicable.
